 Welcome to Tianhua College! Thank you for working with us. For the purpose of teaching accreditation, please provide us with the following documents.

 

 

  1. Before Arrival

Upon Arrival

1. Orientation by IPS

During Teaching

1. Records of student’s performance(take notes on the Roster)

2. Attendance(with specific dates)

3. Class participation

4. Homework assignments

5. Finals

   a. If the final adopts the format of written examination, pleaseprovide both electronic and hard copies of the PAPER, ANSWER KEYS and/or RUBRIC at least ONE WEEK BEFORE the final date. (See:Appendix Written Examination Template.docx)

   b. If the final adopts the format of essays/presentations/projects, etc. please state clearly GRADING CRITERIA and make COMMENTS on each students’ performance.

   c. If you do not have finals, the project with most weight will be taken as finals. Please refer to the above for record.

   d. Grading: Finals should be graded with red ink pens and positive points (100 at most).Initials are required for any modifications of grading. Please avoid calculation mistakes. If plagiarism or cheating is found, please cite the reference or provide the proof.  

  

After Teaching

 Teaching portfolio checklist (See: Appendix .  The Brown Folder Checklist.pdf)

1. Syllabus(updated, 2 copies with handwritten signature)

2. Class Schedule

3. Finals (papers/essays/Power Points slides/...). All materials for finals should be arranged in ascendng order of students' ID number.

4. Roster (with original notes of students' performance and handwritten signature. See Appendix Grading Sheet 2017 sample.xlsx)

5. Samples (Three original samples of each homework assignment with grading comments)

6. Final exam Sign-in list and monitor record (only for written final exams).  

7. Students’ final assessment(saved from jwxt.sthu.edu.cn, handwritten signature needed)

         a. Grading Sheet (100% grading scale, digital and hard copies)

         b. Grades Distribution Form (a short summary of the effectiveness of teaching is needed.)

  

Teaching evaluations

1. Peer evaluation (class observation) (See Appendix . Teaching Observation Form (Peer evaluation).pdf)

2. Students’ evaluation(interview and online questionnaire) (See Appendix Students Evaluation.pdf)

 The evaluation will be shared to partner university.

  

Teaching Code of Conduct

During your teaching, make sure you understand the following policies:

1. Please be professional on campus. No slippers nor shorts. No drinking nor smoking.

2. No spreading of anti-China comments, nor preaching of any religion or political belief to students.

3. No flirting with students during the term of teaching.   

4. Follow the course schedule and timetable of the school; do not be late for class or dismiss students early.

5. Be affirmative with the students and regularly check their homework assignments.  

6. Be flexible with rescheduling classes around Chinese traditional holidays. But NO rescheduling courses without the permission from IPS.
