The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a public institution. It was founded in 1886 as Chattanooga University. In 1969, the University and Chattanooga City College merged with The University of Tennessee to form UTC. 97.8% of UTC professors hold terminal degrees. UTC offers 110 undergraduate programs, as well as 64 master’s degrees and 10 doctoral programs. UTC’s student-to-faculty ratio is 20:1. UTC students can get involved in more than 150 student organizations.
In collaboration with many regional partners, the university offers students an experiential learning environment graced with outstanding teaching scholars in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. UTC provides quality educational programs that properly prepare you with the knowledge, business skills and professional training for managerial, professional, or entrepreneurial opportunities. It offers undergraduate degree programs in accounting, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, management, and marketing. Moreover, the university engages in research that serves the needs and interests of business and management within our community, and supports pedagogical research to enhance the education process.
Through the sharing of knowledge, experience, and insight in all of our initiatives, the College of Business strives to foster progressive innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit. College of Business offers many student organizations for all majors to help students network with other students and local area businesses. The curricula also provide essential skills for employment opportunities in related career fields. Career preparation is offered by way of concentrations in a particular business area.
