Coperative International Undergraduate Degree Program in Early Childhood Education between Western Oregon University and Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College

Program objectives:
The joint program aims to utilize the resources of both institutions in training the talents in acquiring English proficiency, knowledge and skills in early childhood educationthat allow the graduates topursue the career in related fields.
Duration of study and Degrees:
The program will offer the first three-year's instruction at SHNUTHC based on jointly-designed undergraduate curriculum. During the first three years at SHNUTHC, two third of the courses will be taught by faculty from SHNUTHC and one third of courses will be taught by the teachers approved by WOU. The fourth year of the program will be offered at both campuses of the two universities.
SHNUTHC will issue a Bachelor Degree Diploma to each student who successfully complete the program course work.
Qualified students may choose to apply to study at WOU campus for the senior year. WOU guarantees admission of SHNUTHC students in this collaborative program who meet all admissions requirements and file the completed applications in a timely manner. WOU will issue a Bachelor Degree to students who meet the degree requirement and spend their fourth year at WOU campus.
Study plan and schedule:
The study plan is jointly designed by the two parties. Students will be enrolled in the courses jointly designed by the two parties. They will be taught either in Mandarin or English.At least two third of the courses will be taught by faculty from SHNUTHC; up to one third of the remaining courses will be taught by WOU instructors and/or instructors approved by the WOU on the grounds of Tianhua College.
